Igrox technicians reach new level

Igrox, the UK’s leading independent Pest Control and Fumigation Company, now has 5 pest control technicians who have achieved the advanced Level 3 Certificate in Pest Control. These Igrox technicians are the first in the Pest Control sector to obtain this industry leading qualification.

The Royal Society for the Promotion of Health (RSPH) Level 3 Certificate in Pest Control is a new advanced qualification offered by RSPH which is for established pest control technicians. The qualification was initially developed following requests from senior managers in local authority public health departments, who saw the value of using higher level qualifications in pest control to help establish a career route for their staff. Since that initial request the qualification has been redesigned to cater for all employees of the pest control industry.

Possession of the qualification will demonstrate to employers and clients a technician’s advanced knowledge relating to public health pests and their control, and can be used by the technician as evidence of their experience in the industry. The qualification will also be proof of the pest controller’s ability to supervise other staff, assess sites and run contracts.

The qualification is endorsed by Asset Skills, the sector skills council for the pest control industry. It is also supported by British Pest Control Association, National Pest Technicians Association, major employers and local authorities.

“Congratulations are due to Igrox and their staff for these superb results. RSPH hopes that Igrox will continue to submit candidates for this qualification and that other companies will follow their lead”, commented Richard Burton, Qualifications Development Manager of RSPH
