Igrox launches the PC Floor Trap Igrox, one of the country's leading pest control and fumigation specialists, are now recommending the PC Floor Trap; the latest, most efficient and cost effective way of detecting stored product insects in and around grain stores, mills and ancillary machinery. Recent research has shown that to detect an infestation near grain or food residues in empty stores or mills “the trap of choice is the Central Science Laboratory (CSL) PC Floor Trap containing the multispecies lure. It is currently the only trap which is sturdy, reuseable, easy to assemble and leaves the catch easy to identify” (Collins et al 2002)

The PC Floor Trap is easy to assemble and keeps the contents clean. It uses a non food lure ensuring that the trap does not act as a breeding site for insects and the lure is specifically attractive to target beetle pests and not rodents. Insects can easily climb the trap following the lure and are efficiently captured and retained after falling through the holes of the cover. Once insects have been trapped, a Fluon band prevents them from escaping and therefore provides a better indication of infestation levels.

Unlike other traps there is no messy oil and if the traps are mislaid there is no food for insects which would result in increased infestation.

The PC Floor Trap is robust and durable making the cost of ownership lower than
alternatives. A replaceable lure enables the trap to be replenished and maintained in
a most effective state.

The PC Floor Trap is marketed and distributed by Igrox on behalf of CSL. Igrox were selected as the recognised experts in stored pest control and monitoring. The PC Floor trap was tested and developed with the aid of HGCA funding.
