Igrox uses active minerals to combat decay
Igrox Limited, the UK’s leading independent pest control company, are now recommending a range of Boron based products from the Wykamol Group, available through their property renovation and preservation division.
Wykabor 10, Wykabor 20, Wykabor 40 Gel, Wykabor DB and Boron Rods all use the environmentally safe and naturally occurring mineral Boron as the active ingredient for all decay and timber treatments.
The product range has Health & Safety Executive (HSE) approval for one hour or dry re-entry to the treated area and provides effective treatment for beetle infestations, fungal decay (wet and dry rot) and masonry treatments (dry rot). The range is one of the safest options available with no surface residues after correct treatment and the low environmental hazard classification means that there is no hazard symbol required under the Control of Pesticides Regulations 1986.
In the range Wykabor 10 is a wood preservative and masonry biocide, which is suitable for the eradication of common furniture beetle and other wood boring insects. The Wykabor 20 gel offers deep penetration in high-risk areas such as damaged or decayed joist ends, purlins, wall plates, cut ends and rafter feet.
The Boron range is odourless and non-flammable and offers permanent protection, as the active ingredient does not break down as with other products. There is only a nominal additional cost over existing water-based formulations but its benefits far outweigh this.
